For Pet's Sake

Thanksgiving

While we all shared our turkey and cranberry sauce, our furry little friends were thankful as well.

Sally was thankful for the surgery that removed a fatty growth.

Sweetie was thankful for the heartworm treatment that saved her life.

Rocky was thankful for the rescue efforts that brought him to sunny Florida after Katrina.

Belinda the cat was thankful for the surgery that removed her eye after another cat attacked her.

Sludge was thankful for the 93 year old gentleman who knows that at any age there is room in your heart for a homeless pet.

A 93 year old gentleman was thankful for Sludge, who loves him and made sure he did not spend the holiday alone.

A litter of kittens was thankful for a warm place to sleep and plenty of food.

Animal shelters were thankful for their volunteers and donors.

Families across our community were thankful for the pets they have adopted that have brought love and joy to their lives.

Love and compassion comes in all shapes and sizes, all colors, all breeds.  Let us spend our holiday season learning for our furry friends.  Each and everyone of us have special gifts to share.  We are unique individuals with love and compassion in abundance.  Consider sharing your love and home with a pet at one of our local shelters.  Hernando County Broadcasting will be televising the annual Home for the Holidays Pet Pageant in the coming weeks.  Please tune in and see the wonderful pets hoping for their forever family this holiday season.  If you don’t see a pet that steals your heart, visit your local shelters to visit with their other friends who want a new home for Christmas.  Call 754-4000, Hernando County Broadcasting, for broadcast times.  Happy Holidays from all who have committed their time and resources to help our homeless friends.

The Humane Society of the Nature Coast and all our furry friends wish you all a happy, safe and joyous holiday season.
